A vast family-owned estate was converted into a complex of multi-family housing enclosing a center garden for exclusive use of its residents. The garden features a pond and a sculpture court, reminding residents of the century-long history of the site and the former estate. A large pitched roof canopy welcomes visitors at the porte cochere and into the entrance hall, where the view of the garden quietly opens up.

代々受け継がれてきた歴史ある土地に、賃貸集合住宅とオーナー邸を計画した。既存樹木を多く残した敷地中央の庭園は、それを取り囲むように配置された住棟によって外界から切り離され、居住者専用の安全なプライベート庭園となっている。そこに点在させた古くからの土地の記憶を留める景石や彫刻が、この地に移り住んできた人たちの手によって手入れされ、永く受け継がれていくことを願っている。
