Hidden deep in one of Tokyo's most prestigious residential area was a 15-year old high-end rental apartment building originally designed for foreign ex-patriates. As its owner decided to fully renovate the building, rebrand, and sell the rental units, a new design concept for the public area was required. Our proposed concept "Art Gallery in the Woods" converted the entire condominium into an art gallery exclusive to its residents where works by some of the most well-known contemporary artists are on permanent exhibit in the public area.
緑豊かな都心の高台に建つ外国人向けの賃貸マンションを、全面的にリノベーションして分譲するプロジェクト。「森のギャラリー」をコンセプトに掲げ、風除室からエントランスホール、各階共用部を連続する７つのアートギャラリーに見立ててリノベーションした。居住者が毎日生活する中での外出時と帰宅時の動線空間をアートと光で演出し、日常でありながら他にはない特別感のある空間を目指した。アートディレクターとの協業により、現代アートシーンで最も活躍中の作家の中からコンセプトに合う作品を選定し、空間と一体的にデザインした。
