Ichibancho is an area of Tokyo famed for its large estates which trace their origins to the living quarters of high-class samurais serving the Edo period shogun. The site of this project was also one of those. The facade design of this high-rise luxury condominium pays respect to the traditional colors that predominantly existed in the area: gray for the clay tiles, and white for the plastered walls. While modern and minimal, the articulation of details brings a subtle elegance to this high-rise residence.
