Hidden deep in one of Tokyo's most prestigious residential area was a 15-year old high-end rental apartment building originally designed for foreign ex-patriates. As its owner decided to fully renovate the building, rebrand, and sell the rental units, a new design concept for the public area was required. Our proposed concept "Art Gallery in the Woods" converted the entire condominium into an art gallery exclusive to its residents where works by some of the most well-known contemporary artists are on permanent exhibit in the public area.

緑豊かな都心の高台に建つ外国人向けの賃貸マンションを全面的にリニューアルし、再販分譲するプロジェクトである。「森のギャラリー」をコンセプトに掲げ、風除室からエントランスホール、各階共用部を連続する７つのアートギャラリーに見立ててスケルトンからフルリノベーションした。居住者の外出・帰宅時の動線がアートと光で演出された、特別な「日常」が体験できるレジデンスへと転換を図るべく、現代アートシーンの一線で活躍する作家の作品をコンセプトに合わせて厳選し、建築空間と一体化した「住めるギャラリー」を完成させた。
