A proposal to renovate a public housing building into a shared residence for students and young professionals seeking an economical and fun alternative for living in Tokyo. While the original building had limited openings which allow wind and light to reach the deeper parts of the floor plate, our proposal involved connecting the three units into one, and creating pathways for seasonal breeze to pass through, while providing a common area facing South for residents to gather and socialize.
老朽化した公共住宅を学生や独身の社会人向けにシェアハウスとしてリノベーションする提案である。３戸独立していた住戸をひとつに連結することで、８人が一体の空間で共同で生活する。南面した中央部分を共用エリアとし、大きなオープンキッチンを囲むカウンターと小上がり付きのリビングスペースが住人同志の自然な交流を生む一方で、各個室でプライバシーもしっかり確保されるように計画した。住戸の連結部分が新たな風の通り道となり、外光も室内の隅々まで届くようにして、一年を通して風と光を感じる快適な住環境とした。
