Fujimicho is a community in Minami-Azabu where its residents have maintained its own "town hall" building for a long time. Together with the French Embassy redevelopment, whose site is adjacent to, its leaders decided to rebuild, in the same place it has existed for decades. As a symbolic gesture for the community to forever remain and prosper, the design is envisioned as a solid "wedge" driven into the ground. While its iconic shape sits as the new symbol in the area, its board-formed exterior walls tie to the Embassy's Visa building sitting along the same street, composing a street view of an integrated block.
