The site of this condominium had long been owned by a family whose beautiful Japanese garden gave a special aura of tranquility to the neighborhood. In placing the new building, special care was taken in preserving as much of the features that made up the former garden as possible. These included the symbolic hymalayan pine at the entrance, the boat-shaped stone relocated to the entryway, and several aged pieces of rock, which became part of the new design. The "bearing wall" structure enables the interior spaces to be free of columns and beams, maximizing the living space.
